Diet for Endometriosis Sufferers

A woman experiences pain.
Endometriosis causes pain and discomfort for women from adolescence onward throughout their lives. It is often misdiagnosed early in life.

Endometriosis is a disease or condition that afflicts women of child-bearing age. The endometrial tissue that makes up the uterine wall grows abnormally outside of the uterus. The endometrial tissue can wrap around organs and cause women great pain or discomfort. It may also interfere with normal organ functions. Endometriosis may make it difficult or impossible for women to bear children, and often requires surgical intervention. Hormone treatments are used to control the growth of the endometrial tissue outside the uterus.

Endometriosis often manifests itself during a girl’s teenage years but her condition may not be properly diagnosed until she reaches sexual maturity in her early twenties (most often because she doesn’t report her symptoms to a specialist).

Doctor Andrew Cook’s Vital Health clinic is world-renowned for assisting women who suffer from endometriosis. Doctor Cook has appeared on numerous television shows to discuss endometriosis and share treatment options for it.

In March 2017 Doctor Cook and his wife Danielle Cook will publish a book, The Endometriosis Health and Diet Program: Get Your Life Back, to help women who have endometriosis treat their condition through diet.

In July 2012, Doctor Cook published Stop Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain: What Every Woman and Her Doctor Need to Know.  If you have endometriosis we recommend this book to help you understand this disease and how to live with it.
